As a devoted educator and community advocate, I embraced Orcas Island as my home in August 2017, drawn to its idyllic setting as the perfect environment to raise my family. Originating from Montana, my journey in pursuit of educational excellence began with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University-Billings.

My professional journey unfolded in Montana, where I served as a Family Support Specialist, navigating the complexities of developmental disabilities. Embracing diverse roles, from Children’s Services Manager to Early Childhood Services Coordinator, I collaborated with state and local agencies, ensuring optimal home visiting practices and conducting training sessions for fellow specialists.

Upon settling on Orcas Island, I deepened my expertise, earning an A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Whatcom Community College. This educational pursuit reflects my commitment to continuous learning and a steadfast focus on delivering quality early childhood education.

Integral to the Orcas Island community, I dedicated six years as the lead preschool teacher at Kaleidoscope and contributed part-time to the San Juan County Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP). Presently, I wholeheartedly commit myself to San Juan County ECEAP, occasionally donning a different hat and serving up coffee at Darvill’s.

Deeply community focused, I cultivate strong relationships with families on Orcas Island. My enduring passion revolves around ensuring that the younger generation and families in the community receive high-quality healthcare services. With enthusiasm and dedication, I eagerly anticipate continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of Orcas Island residents. I am proud to be serving as a Commissioner for the Health Care District.
